You can travel to Gythio by car - Athens - Gythio about 271 km
or by buses
 by ferry boat from Piraeus - which connects southern Peloponnese with Kithira and Kasteli of Crete - and the local ferry boat from Neapolis, Elafonisos and Kythira.
