Agistri island




Agistri is a small  island of Greece with an area of 11.7 square kilometers ,belongs to the Prefecture of Piraeus and is located in the heart of the Saronic Gulf.
It is very close to Athens -about 1 hour by flying dolphin-.




 In Agistri you will find pine woods, sandy beaches, crystal clear
waters , quiet, serenity, a lively nightlife for those who like water
sports at the pristine beaches, with tourist infrastructure, attracts
more and more visitors, who come and follow coming back to the
island.                





To go around the island, the visitor can  rent bicycles and mopeds.

Another option is to use taxi, bus or even the tourist train.

The island is full of pine trees and for those who love hiking is ideal for walking.





Agistri has four villages: Megalochori or Milos (Chora), Scala (the physical port where approaching ferry boat from Piraeus / Aegina), Limenaria and Metochi.

Skala: Sandy shallow-tourist beach on the northeast coast. There is also the natural port where the ferry boat dock of the ferry connection with Piraeus and Aegina. On the beach of Skala are hotels, restaurants and cafes.









Megalochori: The sandy beach in the village of Megalochori or Milos (Chora in the north).

Dragonera: pebbly unspoiled beach on the west side of the island easily accessible by road. This beach is surrounded by pine forest





Following the narrow path west from the port of Skala where the ferry arrives from Aegina / Pireaus we see the beach Skliri and later  Halikiada . The pristine beach  Halikiada is nudist beach  because it is completely isolated and difficult to access

Everywhere at the island you can find taverns,restaurants with Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, plenty of fresh fish , grilled meat, casserole dishes from the traditional Greek cuisine, homemade meze, appetizers,etc








Across Agistri is Aegina (3.5 km) , which you can visit by the flying dolphin or by small ships regularly depart in the summer, every day from the port of Skala and Mylos.
From Aegina you can leave in the morning at 09:00 by ferry coming from Piraeus and visit metheno, Poros, Hydra and Spetses and return with the night ferry

Agistri island has daily ferry connection with Piraeus.
The trip by ferry boat is two hours while "Flying Dolphin" 55 minutes.
