Parga , Sivota


One of the most beauiful destinations of Epirus region is Parga.
Praga is a coastal town, located at the northwest part of Preveza,
68 km. and 50 km. from the city of Igoumenitsa.


It is built amphitheatrically between the coastal shores of the Ionian sea, and the foothills of the  Parga mountains.

Parga has diverse natural beauties,it combines the mountain with the sea
perfectly .
It is one of the most picturesque and cosmopolitan places in northwestern Greece.




The uniqueness of Parga's construction was influenced by the architecture obtained during Venetian rule, small white and coloured houses  adjacent to each other, traditional mansions, narrow roads flooded with flours.





Just opposite the town there is the picturesque island of Virgin Mary, where is built the church .
It is the most popular tourist destination in Epirus.


Within the municipality of Parga there are several different beaches and bays.

Kryoneri beach , faces the Islet of Virgin Mary.
Right next to the east lies the Piso Krioneri , also a small beach in Parga  surrounded by high cliffs.
To the west of Parga lies the probably most famous beach of the area Valtos  .

At East , 3 km outside the city there is Lichnos beach, which has two small sea caves The beach is sandy, but has spots with gravels, and is considered one of the most beautiful of Parga.

About 6 km east of Parga after wetland Kalodiki there is Ai Giannakis.
Finally six kilometers west of Parga near the village of Agia  there is the beach Sarakiniko.


All these beaches are accessible by road.
There are also a number of beaches that are accessed by sea like Agios Sostis, the Spartilas  etc.

 About fifteen kilometers from Parga is located the most important ancient monument of the region.
The most important Necromandion of antiquity, the Oracle of Acheron.
The ancient Greeks believed that the sources of Acheron were the gates of the Underworl



You can go on a day trip to Sivota village,
Sivota is a beautiful green coastal village in the south of Thesprotia ,52km from Parga .There are hotels, bars, restaurants ,shops etc
You can find beautiful  beaches

From Sivota you can take a boat to Agios Nikolaos and  Mavro Oros islands

Opposite Parga are the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos where the visitor can go for a trip -daily ferry connection.

You will not forget to buy wine, honey, olive oil and sausages. Numerous and excellent quality dairy products has to show the Epirus while pies  and trachanas are traditional dishes.


You can arrive to Parga by car, from Athens 420km  ,Salonika 512 km Patra 221 km
                                                                                                       
By boat , Igoumenitsa is connected with the port of Ancona  , Italy
By air exists regular connection with Athens via Aktio and beyond of scheduled flights there are also charters flights during the summer months.
During the summer months is connected daily by ferry , with Paxos and Antipaxos. Also connected to the Ammoudia ,Corfu and Lefkada.
