The remoteness of the area, the morphology, the limited human intervention and the excellent condition of the natural environment, make the landscape and the sea areas of the Park, ideal refuge for many endangered, species of terrestrial and marine flora and fauna.

The Park area is an important habitat for many fish species (about 300 ) , birds ( over 80 species) , reptiles and also mammals. Monk seal , red coral , the Falcon , aigaioglaros , the shag and the ibex of potsherd are some of the characteristics of rare species present in the area. Some of the birds inhabiting the park is the eagle , cormorant and the herring gull , and Swift . The avifauna also includes kinds of family Sylvidae, as tsirovakoi Sylvia melanocephala and Sylvia articapilla. Also shows the great diversity of underwater fauna with many benthic and pelagic species. Dolphins and whales some species occurring in the area . The most common species of dolphins and whales are common dolphins in the striped dolphin bottlenose dolphin , o blower and zifios .
