Pelion is a tourist attraction throughout the year: the mountain includes trails and sidewalks for walking within small and large beaches with sand.

At the coastline of the Pagasitic spread beautifuly the picturesque villages of Pelion. which are perfect for a holiday close to nature.


Portaria Typical elements of Portaria are the large mansions of the Thessalian-Macedonian style with a roof of stone slabs. Most of them today are renovated and function as hotels.

Makrinitsa

One of the most characteristic traditional settlements, full of mansions and houses that look like hanging ornaments on the green mountain side. One of the traditional coffee houses is decorated with a fresco by the famous Greek painter Theofilos. The picturesque cobbled paths of Makrinitsa are scattered with traditional water fountains. Makrinitsa is a popular tourist destination, especially during the winter

Hania A point of reference for Pelion, mainly during the winter season is the ski center of Pelion Agriolefkes which is located near Chania

You can  reach  Pelion  by car from Athens - 4 hours - or by bus
By plane,the nearest airport to Pelion is Volos
If you are already visiting Skiathos you can easily reach Pelio via a fast ferry to Volos. or you can take a small boat from Platanias to Skiathos and back.
