Symi Island



 Simi island  is the eighth largest Greek island in complex of Dodecanese,with a total area of ​​57,865 sq. kmThe natural harbor is Gialos. You can get there by  ferry from  Rhodes.
When you  take a walk to the beautiful small paths,streets throw the villages,enjoy all these colors around you and for rest stop to try the magnificent food or the traditional ouzo.
Visit the shops ,the people and ask them for every information you want.For sure they make you feel 
welcome.

  Homer's Iliad mentions that the king of the Nereus led three ships to Troy. Symi has always belonged to the territory of Rhodes. Only a relatively small space in the 5th century BC fell into the hands of the Athenians.




           Although Symi  has little lowlands and highlands, at the mountains there is stunning vegetation.




                                   The coast of Symi  a multitude of bays, coves, capes and small ports.



  Summer start from the seashore, boats and small vessels with destination the wonderful beaches
and to different smaller islands next to Symi .

  Approximately half of the active population is occupied in construction, trade, restaurants, hotels, transport and communications, generally in activities directly associated to tourism.the farming sector and fisheries.
Less people occupied in Shipbuilding and woodcarving.

Another traditional art is the furniture, which is currently limited to two factories engaged in manufacturing traditional furniture.
